Humidity Indicator Card (HIC) is a card on which a moisture-sensitive chemical is impregnated such that it will change color when the indicated relative humidity is exceeded.

Most of electronic components, precision optical parts, high-tech electronics, equipments and devices are easily affected by humidity, which cause rust, less sensitive, or even lead to unrecoverable damage. In order to avoid corroding and damaging by humidity, most of the products will be adopted anti-humidity packaging to protect the semi-finished and finished products. Using Humidity Indicator Card is a fast and economy way to inspect humidity whether it is acceptable. When closed bags are opened, the color of the Humidity Indicator Card indicates the humidity in the closed bag whether it is in a specified humidity range. At the same time, it also shows the effect of the desiccant in the closed bag whether exert absorption of moisture or not.

Humidity Indicator Card use color changing to judge humidity changing. When it is dry, the dot(s) on Humidity Indicator Card is blue. If the dot(s) changes from blue to pink, it means the humidity inside the package reaches or exceeds the relative humidity which the dot(s) corresponding to.

The color changing of Humidity Indicator Card is reversible. Humidity exceeds the humidity corresponding to the dot(s), the color change from blue to pink. If humidity is lower than the humidity corresponding to the dot(s), the pinked Humidity Indicator Card can change back to blue. But it need more time from pink to blue and need enough desiccant to make Humidity Indicator Card resume blue.
